4WD crashes into Gold Coast restaurant

The glass doors of Lummy's Chinese Restaurant in Mermaid Waters have been smashed to bits, after a 4WD crashed through them overnight.

Emergency crews were called to the diner on Lakeview Boulevard around midnight on Wednesday.

Paramedics assessed four people at the scene but they didn't need to be taken to hospital for treatment.

Police were still investigating on Thursday morning, after initial inquires revealed the teenage driver might not have had a license.
