Crime is on the rise across the G:Link network with offences at some stations quadrupling over the past financial year.

Broadbeach South earned the unwanted title of being the network's most crime-prone station with 40 offences including 15 thefts and eight assaults in 2015-16.

Cavill Avenue was next on the list with 15 reported crimes.

Cypress Avenue came third with 12.

Currumbin MP Jann Stuckey said the government needed to increase police resourcing to drive crime down ahead of the Commonwealth Games.

"With the 2018 Commonwealth Games barely a year away, our public transport system must not only be in good and reliable working order, but also a safe option for the thousands of visitors who will traverse the Gold Coast," she said in a statement.
