Mazda 323 Police Chase Lasts One Hour Around Cessnock

Police have been lead on a lengthy chase through the Hunter Valley overnight, lasting more than one hour and stretching 103 kilometres.

Officers noticed a Mazda 323 connected to several recent break and enters around Pokolbin.

They tried to stop the car, however the driver sped off on Mount View Road.

The pursuit continued through several townships from Cessnock to Bellbird, Paxton, Millfield, Laguna, Wollombi and Paynes Crossing.

The car broke down at Broke (of all places) and the 36 year old female driver was arrested.

During the pursuit, she allegedly rammed a police car at Bucketty.

The Cessnock woman has been charged with several offences over the chase, while investigations continue into the Pokolbin break ins.
